Ram 1500 Tungsten Two Years On: Still Hurricane-Only as the Hemi Returns Elsewhere
Ram's $89,315 luxury pickup arrived in 2024 with a 540-hp six. Since then Ram brought back the Hemi V8 and cancelled its electric truck, but not for the Tungsten.

The Ram 1500 Tungsten arrived for 2025 as the most expensive and most luxurious Ram ever, aimed at buyers who would otherwise look at a Cadillac Escalade. Two years on, the Tungsten is unchanged in its essentials, while the rest of the Ram lineup has been turned around.
The 2024 story
The Tungsten started at $87,320, or $89,315 with destination, and a fully optioned truck came to $96,470, according to Motor1. Power came from the 540-hp high-output version of Stellantis' 3.0-liter twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six. Ram had dropped the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 from the 1500 for 2025.
What happened next
In June 2025 Ram reversed course and brought the Hemi back for 2026, with 395 hp and mild-hybrid assist, DoubleClutch reported. It is available on most trims, but the Tungsten and the off-road RHO remain Hurricane-only. In September 2025 Stellantis cancelled the all-electric Ram 1500 REV, citing slowing demand for full-size electric trucks, and gave the REV name to the range-extended Ramcharger, InsideEVs reported.
The 2026 Tungsten starts at $91,395 including a $2,695 destination charge, TFLtruck reported, still with the 540-hp Hurricane.

Our read
Of the Tungsten's $2,080 rise, $700 came from a higher destination charge; the truck itself went up $1,380. Ram's bigger moves happened around it: the V8 came back for buyers who missed it, and the electric truck was dropped. Keeping the six-cylinder as the only engine in the flagship says Ram sees the Hurricane, not the Hemi, as its luxury engine.
