Ford Bronco Sport Badlands Two Years On: Less Power, More Gear, Then a Price Cut
The 2025 Badlands got bigger screens and a Sasquatch package but lost 12 hp. In 2026 Ford cut its price by $1,000 and moved features into an option pack.

In June 2024 the refreshed Ford Bronco Sport Badlands was caught without camouflage ahead of its debut. The changes looked modest: new bumpers and a larger screen for the most off-road-ready version of Ford's small SUV. Two years on, the Badlands has been updated twice, and not always in the buyer's favor.
The 2024 story
The Badlands already had skid plates, all-terrain tires and a twin-clutch rear drive unit. The prototypes showed metal-look trim stretching across the front bumper and cutouts for tow hooks, and a bigger infotainment screen was expected inside.
What happened next
Ford showed the 2025 Bronco Sport in August 2024. Every trim got a 13.2-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital cluster, according to Ford. The Badlands gained 0.4 inches of ground clearance and a Rally G.O.A.T. drive mode, but its 2.0-liter turbo four dropped to 238 hp, 12 hp less than before, Carscoops reported. The new Sasquatch package added 29-inch tires, steel bumpers with tow hooks and Bilstein rear shocks for $2,990 on the Badlands, which started at $41,590, according to MotorWeek.
In spring 2026 Ford went the other way. For later 2026 production, the Badlands' starting MSRP fell by $1,000, from $38,265 to $37,265, Ford Authority reported. The heated steering wheel, power passenger seat, memory settings, key-fob remote start and 400W inverter moved into a $2,295 Badlands Tech Package.

The Badlands became more capable and better equipped in 2025, then Ford started trimming it to protect the price. The $1,000 cut is real, but buyers who want the comfort features back pay $2,295 for them. The Sasquatch package, not the base Badlands, is now the version that sets the Bronco Sport apart.
