The Hennessey H850 Mustang Dark Horse, with 850 horsepower, accelerates 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and runs the quarter-mile in 10.9 seconds at 133 mph. Starting at $83,885, it offers significant power upgrades and includes a comprehensive warranty.

Last year, Hennessey introduced the H850 Mustang Dark Horse, a supercharged muscle car boasting 850 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Recently, the Texas-based tuner and hypercar manufacturer revealed performance data for the H850, and it’s nothing short of impressive.

The standard Dark Horse with a 10-speed automatic can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds. However, the H850 Dark Horse shaves 0.5 seconds off that time, achieving the same in just 3.2 seconds. The quarter-mile time has also been significantly improved. While the standard Dark Horse covers the quarter-mile in 12 seconds at 118.4 mph, the Hennessey-tuned model completes it in 10.9 seconds at 133 mph, outpacing a stock Corvette Stingray but falling short of the E-Ray and Z06.

The 70% power increase is due to several engine upgrades. Ford’s naturally aspirated Coyote V8 now includes a high-performance supercharger, a high-flow air induction system, Hennessey’s engine management system, enhanced fuel injectors, and a new fuel pump. These upgrades can be paired with either the 10-speed automatic or the six-speed manual transmission.

Hennessey founder and CEO John Hennessey emphasized that the H850 Dark Horse caters to enthusiasts seeking even more performance from their Mustang: «Our supercharged H850 Mustang Dark Horse builds on Ford’s commitment to provide automotive enthusiasts with passion products like the snarling V8-powered S650 Mustang. We’re excited to unleash Hennessey’s passion for performance on America’s most iconic muscle car with all the sights, sounds, smells, and sensations that get our blood pumping!»

The standard H850 package costs $24,950, which, when added to the $58,935 starting price of the Dark Horse, brings the total to $83,885. This price is quite competitive considering the 850-hp power output. Additional options include a Performance Wheel package for $4,950 and Heritage Graphics available in white, silver, red, and black for $4,500.

All H850 models come with a comprehensive three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty, ensuring peace of mind. The H850 also features Hennessey-embroidered headrests, H850 badging, and a serial-numbered engine plaque. Hennessey offers upgrade packages for several models, including the 1,000-hp F-150 Raptor R-based VelociraptoR, as well as packages for the Ranger Raptor and the Bronco Raptor.
