Tesla Halts Cybertruck Deliveries Amid Accelerator Pedal Concerns
Tesla pauses Cybertruck deliveries for a week due to issues with the accelerator pedal, as reported by customers awaiting their electric trucks.
Production of Tesla’s Cybertruck is in full swing, but numerous electric trucks have encountered mechanical issues prior to delivery. Many prospective Cybertruck owners have expressed their frustrations on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum, reporting that their delivery appointments were abruptly canceled due to an «unexpected delay.»
A notification shared by a forum member stated: «Hi, we have just been informed of an unexpected delay regarding the preparation of your vehicle. We need to cancel your delivery appointment for tomorrow and we will reach out again when we’re able to get you back on the schedule.»
The specifics behind the delay were not provided to the owners, who were expecting their vehicles this weekend. According to the Twitter user and Tesla enthusiast Whole Mars Catalog, the delivery of Cybertrucks will be halted for seven days. The delay is reportedly due to an issue with the truck’s accelerator pedal, a problem also noted by other forum members.
Forum user Avery21 mentioned that the issue involves a lubricant in the accelerator that causes slippage. Tesla has not publicly commented on the exact cause of the delay, leading to dissatisfaction among customers who have been eagerly awaiting their Cybertrucks.
This is not the first time the Cybertruck has faced challenges. Early adopters have reported rust on the truck’s stainless steel body, a claim Tesla’s lead engineer has vehemently denied. Additionally, Tesla rectified over 2 million EVs, including the Cybertruck, for font issues via over-the-air updates. Some initial deliveries also lacked aero wheel covers.
If confirmed, the accelerator pedal issue underscores the importance of addressing significant problems before delivery, illustrating Tesla’s proactive approach to ensuring vehicle quality and customer satisfaction before issues escalate.
