2025 Honda Pilot Unleashes New Black Edition with Enhanced Off-Road Capabilities
Discover the 2025 Honda Pilot's Black Edition, blending aggressive styling with a luxurious cabin and superior off-road features for family adventures.
The 2025 Honda Pilot, heralded as the largest and most potent 3-row SUV in Honda’s storied history, is now making its way to dealerships, and with it comes the thrilling new Black Edition. This variant stands out with exclusive exterior and interior styling enhancements, setting a new benchmark in the midsize 3-row SUV segment. The Pilot lineup boasts six well-equipped trims, including the trailblazing Pilot TrailSport, celebrated as the most rugged and off-road-ready Honda SUV to date, featuring standard all-terrain tires, steel skid plates, elevated ground clearance, and an off-road-tuned suspension among other capabilities.
The Pilot kicks off its range with the Pilot Sport at an MSRP of $39,900, excluding additional charges for destination and handling. Lance Woelfer, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales, emphasizes the Black Edition’s role in reinforcing the Pilot as the ultimate family SUV, blending rugged design, off-road prowess, and agile on-road dynamics for unforgettable family adventures.
Elevating above the TrailSport and Elite models, the Black Edition propels the midsize SUV’s aesthetic to dramatic new levels. It adopts a bolder stance with Gloss Black 20-inch alloy wheels, a matching grille bar, and mirror housings, alongside blackout treatments across various exterior elements, punctuated by distinct Black Edition badges. This edition also makes Honda’s Intelligent Variable Torque Management™ (iVTM-4®) all-wheel-drive system standard, ensuring robust performance across terrains.
The interior of the Black Edition mirrors its exterior’s premium vibe, with unique styling touches such as red-accented perforated leather seats, red contrast stitching, and ambient red accent lighting, alongside embossed Black Edition logos, offering an exclusive and luxurious cabin experience.
The TrailSport edition pushes the boundaries of off-road capability within the Pilot family. It boasts bespoke hardware for enhanced all-wheel drive performance, a specially tuned suspension for greater ground clearance and ride quality, and robust steel skid plates for underbody protection. Its all-terrain tires improve traction across various surfaces, supported by unique 18-inch wheels designed to minimize trail damage.
Inside, the TrailSport edition features distinctive rugged details such as orange contrast stitching and embroidered logos, coupled with modern amenities like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto™, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof, marrying functionality with comfort. Aligning with Honda’s «Safety for Everyone» philosophy, the 2025 Pilot is equipped with the comprehensive Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver-assist technologies, enhancing protection for all road users.
The Pilot allows further personalization through various post-production option packages, including the HPD Package, which draws inspiration from Honda’s racing heritage, adding a touch of aggression and style to the Pilot’s rugged appearance. Continuing Honda’s 40-year tradition of building products close to its customers, every fourth-generation Pilot is assembled in the U.S. at the Honda Alabama Auto Plant, underscoring Honda’s commitment to American manufacturing. The 2025 Honda Pilot, with its Black Edition and TrailSport variants, sets a new standard for family SUVs, offering unmatched versatility, style, and safety for the ultimate family adventure.
