This electric SUV is available in four trims: SE Standard Range, SE, SEL, and Limited, with options for either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, except for the SE Standard Range trim which is rear-wheel drive only. Prices for the Ioniq 5 range from $41,800 to $57,400, not including a freight charge, with a special Disney100 Platinum Edition available for $59,400.

Performance-wise, the rear-wheel-drive version with a 77.4-kWh long-range battery produces 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, achieving a 0–60 mph time of around 7 seconds and an EPA-estimated range of 303 miles. The all-wheel-drive variant adds a second motor, bumping the output to 320 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque, reducing the 0–60 mph time to about 5 seconds but with a slightly reduced range of 260 miles. The Ioniq 5’s 800-volt battery architecture allows for rapid charging, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes at 350-kW DC fast charging stations.

Inside, the Ioniq 5 offers a generous amount of space for passengers and cargo, with up to 59.3 cu. ft. of cargo space behind the seats and an additional 0.85 cu. ft. under the hood. It’s well-equipped across all trims, featuring a dual 12.3-inch screen setup for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Higher-end trims include luxury features like a Bose premium audio system and a digital rearview mirror.

Hyundai also introduces a unique Disney100 Platinum Edition to celebrate its collaboration with Disney, featuring exclusive design elements and limited to just 1,000 units.

Overall, the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is praised for its build quality, comprehensive set of driver aids, and distinctive styling that harkens back to the 1980s hatchback era, offering a compelling blend of fun driving dynamics, technology, and practicality. Its performance for everyday use is commendable, matched with agile driving dynamics and a decent range, making it a strong contender in the mid-size electric vehicle segment
