The 2025 Ford Expedition gets a significant refresh with new exterior and interior updates. Highlights include revamped lighting, a Lincoln-inspired interior, and potential hybrid powertrain.

Ford is giving its largest SUV, the Expedition, a significant refresh, as captured in recent spy shots taken in Michigan. Although the model had an update in 2022, Ford aims to keep it current with design and feature updates similar to those seen in the F-150 and the recently revamped Ranger.

Currently, Ford is shifting its focus from EVs to hybrid models, emphasizing reliability and quality. The Expedition, despite being on the market since 2018, continues to stand out due to Ford’s ongoing enhancements that maintain its appeal.

The front end of the Expedition showcases the most notable changes, featuring new lighting elements that integrate the DRLs and turn signals into the grille for a sleeker look. The updated front bumper complements these changes, giving the SUV a refreshed appearance that could have also enhanced the Ranger.

The sides of the vehicle remain largely unchanged, except for a concealed C-pillar that creates a cleaner greenhouse look, and new wheels that add an upscale feel. Chrome trim runs along the window sills to the rear, meeting slightly smaller taillights. The rear window appears slimmer, with a wiper blade now hidden in the roof. Additionally, the rear bumper has been modified and possibly raised slightly.

Inside, the Expedition will adopt the Lincoln Nautilus’s advanced interior, featuring an 11.1-inch touchscreen in the center and a massive 48-inch screen spanning from A-pillar to A-pillar. This interior retains physical controls for the gear selector and radio, while HVAC controls are displayed on the screen.

With these updates, the Expedition is expected to offer an engaging startup sequence similar to the Lincoln, although not as comprehensive. Power will continue to come from the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, but there’s hope that Ford might introduce the hybrid setup from the F-150, given its popularity among buyers.
