The Maserati GranCabrio Trofeo, set for a summer release, transforms from covered to open-top in 13.9 seconds, combining high performance with convertible elegance.

The much-anticipated convertible Maserati GranTurismo, dubbed the GranCabrio, is set to make its debut this summer, featuring the high-performance Trofeo configuration. It boasts a retractable canvas roof that can open in just 13.9 seconds, even while moving at speeds of up to 31 mph, allowing drivers to transition from shade to sunlight seamlessly. In case of sudden rain, the roof closes in 14.1 seconds, offering protection with a variety of roof colors to choose from, complemented by six exterior paint options.

The GranCabrio isn’t just about its convertible feature; it’s also about comfort and performance. The vehicle comes equipped with a user-friendly touchscreen for roof control, a neck warmer for the front seats, and an optional wind stopper that minimizes air flow, though it limits rear-seat passenger space.

Under the hood, the GranCabrio shares the same powerhouse as the hardtop Trofeo, a 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 engine with 542 horsepower, paired with an all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed gearbox. Despite being heavier than its coupe counterpart, the GranCabrio doesn’t skimp on speed, boasting a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 196 mph.

The interior mirrors that of the GranTurismo Trofeo, featuring advanced technology including a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a dedicated climate control display, and a comprehensive instrument cluster. Connectivity and assistance systems such as Maserati Intelligent Assist, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Maserati Connect enhance the driving experience, alongside available Level 2 autonomous driving aids.

Set for a North American release in summer 2024, the GranCabrio Trofeo’s pricing will be announced closer to its launch date. With the hardtop version starting at $190,000, expectations for the GranCabrio’s price point hover above the $200,000 mark.
