Jesko Absolut Sets New World Record for Fastest 0-400-0 km/h Run
Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Breaks Speed Record with 27.83-second Sprint from 0-400-0 km/h, Outperforming Regera’s Previous Record.
The Koenigsegg Jesko remains highly sought after, despite recently achieving a new world record. The Jesko Absolut, now recognized as the fastest car globally for accelerating from 0 to 400 km/h and back to 0 (0-249-0 mph), set this remarkable feat at a Swedish airfield on June 27. Clocking in at 27.83 seconds, it outperformed its predecessor, the Koenigsegg Regera, by nearly a full second, which had set the previous record of 28.81 seconds in 2023.
The record-breaking run was piloted by Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh, marking just one of four records shattered that day for a production car. Additional achievements included covering 0-400 km/h in 18.82 seconds, reaching 0-250 mph in 19.20 seconds, and completing 0-250-0 mph in 28.27 seconds.
Preliminary attempts were made on June 26, but were hindered by higher temperatures. Therefore, the team waited until 5 am on June 27 to utilize the Jesko Absolut in its original state, equipped with E85 fuel and standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tires, with minimal modifications such as a roll cage and a One:1 driver seat.
The Jesko Absolut’s design emphasizes straight-line speed, featuring a streamlined body with reduced frontal area, targeted venting for high-pressure air release, and no active aerodynamics to minimize drag. Its twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 engine, capable of producing up to 1,600 hp on E85 fuel, underscores its performance prowess.
Christian von Koenigsegg expressed confidence in the Jesko Absolut’s capabilities, stating, «This record run validates the accuracy of our simulations and calculations, reinforcing its status as the fastest fully homologated production car. Our focus now shifts to tire testing and development as we prepare to challenge further records.»
