Introducing the Giannini Spettacolo: A High-Performance Abarth 595 Revival
Giannini Automobili returns with the Spettacolo, a powerful Abarth 595-based creation producing 247 HP and 265 lb-ft of torque. Limited to 200 units, this custom widebody hot hatch features a luxurious interior and scissor doors, starting at €133,000.
Giannini Automobili has a storied history of tuning and building cars, predominantly Fiats, dating back to the early 20th century. Although the company closed in 1961 due to a disagreement between its founding brothers, it has recently made a comeback with a new creation based on the Abarth 595, named the Spettacolo. Unlike the Fiat 500e available in America, the Abarth 595 is equipped with a 1.4-liter turbocharged T-Jet four-cylinder engine. Giannini has modified this engine to produce 247 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque, making the Spettacolo the most powerful road-going version of the Abarth 595 or 695.
The Spettacolo features a custom widebody kit that includes extended fenders, larger side skirts, a vented aluminum hood, and a large rear diffuser. This is complemented by a pair of central-exit exhaust tips and a significant roof-mounted spoiler. The wheels are adorned with carbon-fiber aero covers, and the car is equipped with scissor doors, adding to its supercar aesthetic.
Inside, the Spettacolo replaces the rear bench with lightweight carbon seats and installs leather-bound bucket seats in the front. The interior is richly detailed with quilting, contrast stitching, an Alcantara steering wheel, and aluminum pedals. Unique design elements, such as strakes on the headlight covers, add to the car’s wild look. The Spettacolo is available in 15 different colors, as offered on its configurator.
Production is limited to just 200 units, with each taking approximately 150 days to develop. Priced at €133,000 (around $144,600), the Spettacolo boasts impressive performance figures: 0-62 mph in five seconds flat and a top speed of 174 mph. Despite its high price tag, the Spettacolo’s lightweight construction at just 2,172 lbs promises an exhilarating driving experience. However, interested buyers will need to be patient, as each car is hand-built over five months.
For those willing to invest in this exclusive hot hatch, the Giannini Spettacolo offers a unique blend of performance and bespoke craftsmanship.
