Kia confirms the EV3 electric crossover is coming to the U.S. by 2025. Expected to cost under $35,000, the EV3 will feature up to 350 miles of range, advanced driver-assistance systems, and V2L charging.

Will the Kia EV3 come to the United States? That’s a question we’ve pondered since its concept debut last October. Fortunately, we have good news: The Kia EV3 is indeed heading to the U.S.

Kia confirmed to Motor1 that the entry-level EV will soon be available in the U.S. Although the company hasn’t disclosed an exact release date or price, speculation suggests we could see the EV3 in the U.S. as early as 2025, or perhaps 2026, aligning with Rivian’s planned R3 release. Given its smaller size compared to the Kia Seltos, the EV3 is expected to cost under $35,000, possibly closer to $30,000.

Technically, the EV3 will utilize the E-GMP platform, shared with the EV6 and EV9. It will feature a battery pack with either 58.0 kWh or 81.4 kWh capacity, offering up to 560 kilometers (about 350 miles) of range on the WLTP cycle. The EV3’s estimated DC fast charging rate is 128 kW.

Inside, the EV3 boasts two 12.3-inch touchscreens and an optional head-up display. It includes advanced driver-assistance features like lane-keep assist, highway driving assist, and automatic emergency braking. It also supports V2L charging, allowing the car to power external devices.

The EV3 introduces the i-Pedal 3.0, a new one-pedal driving system with adjustable regenerative braking accessible via steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. We’ll have to wait for the production EV3 to hit the U.S. market for further details.
