Vauxhall has unveiled the first images of its new Frontera, announcing that the exciting and spacious C-SUV will be available in a fully electric variant right from its launch. Customers will also have the option to choose versions that incorporate 48-volt hybrid technology.

James Taylor, Vauxhall’s Managing Director, expressed that the new Vauxhall Frontera, with its rugged design, spaciousness, innovative solutions, and efficient powertrains, is designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of customers looking for a vehicle that stands out. He highlighted that the Frontera, with a fully electric option available from the start, is perfectly suited for both urban and suburban environments.

The new Frontera makes a strong impression with its rugged look, embodying Vauxhall’s bold and pure design philosophy. It features an upright front silhouette and distinctive front proportions that merge a functional and spacious cabin with a bold, tough, yet modern and expressive appearance. The black Vizor on the front end establishes a unique identity for the Frontera, integrating Eco LED headlamps with automatic high beam and the central Vauxhall griffin logo. The Vizor is complemented by a trapezoidal cooling opening, reinforcing the vehicle’s solid and robust stance.

The vehicle also sports the familiar Vauxhall wing lighting signature, updated with a modern twist through three blocks of lights divided by body-coloured insets. A distinctive C-pillar visually extends the spacious cabin, while pronounced wheel arches give the Frontera a solid and contemporary look.

Inside, the Frontera marries clever design with functionality. The interior boasts wide horizontal decorations across the instrument panel and doors, enhancing the sense of space. Occupants are greeted by a fully digital Pure Panel cockpit featuring two 10-inch displays and a Multimedia infotainment system. The new steering wheel’s bold and elegant design matches the cabin’s modern aesthetic. Vauxhall’s commitment to comfort with minimal distraction is evident in the clean, user-friendly interface designed to reduce digital stress.

Innovative seating features, such as the patented Intelli-Seat with a slot to alleviate tailbone pressure, ensure comfort even on long drives. The seats, with their rich craftsmanship and eye-catching contrast stitching, are available in fully sustainable recycled materials.

The Frontera’s appeal is further enhanced by smart solutions for convenience, like a cooled wireless charger and multiple USB ports for easy device charging. The center console features a flexible strap for securely holding larger devices like tablets, and additional storage areas are designed to prevent items from rattling or sliding. Second-row passengers have the convenience of integrated smartphone pockets in the front seat backrests.

The new Frontera also shines in terms of cargo space, offering over 460 litres of boot space with the seats up and up to 1,600 litres with the seats down. The 60:40 split rear bench and an optional second load floor add versatility, while optional functional roof rails cater to those needing extra luggage space or wishing to utilize the roof load capacity of over 200kg.

Like all new Vauxhall models, the Frontera impresses with its design and responsible performance, offering customers a choice between a fully electric variant and highly efficient engines with 48-volt hybrid technology. With its fresh look, smart and enjoyable features, and the option of electric or hybrid powertrains, the new Vauxhall Frontera demonstrates the brand’s commitment to its electrification pledge, aiming to offer a fully electric version of every model by the end of 2024.
