Introducing the Skoda Epiq: A New Era of Electric Mobility
Set for 2025, the Skoda Epiq city SUV crossover merges spacious design with cutting-edge tech, embodying Skoda’s Modern Solid aesthetic and sustainable innovation.
Skoda Auto is set to transform the urban electric vehicle landscape with the introduction of the Skoda Epiq, a battery-electric city SUV crossover, slated for a 2025 launch. Priced at approximately 25,000 euros, the Epiq is designed to offer a blend of spaciousness and functionality within a compact 4.1-meter frame, boasting up to 490 liters of luggage space. The vehicle will be a testament to Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language, which emphasizes functionality, authenticity, and a powerful aesthetic, both internally and externally.
The Epiq promises a minimalist yet highly functional interior, utilizing durable and sustainable materials. Innovative features such as a wireless mobile phone charger, Simply Clever storage solutions, and a new two-spoke steering wheel design with Flashy Orange accents aim to enhance the driving experience. Furthermore, the Epiq will introduce cutting-edge technologies including a mobile digital key and support for bidirectional charging, highlighting Skoda’s commitment to customer-focused and sustainable mobility solutions.
Marking a significant chapter in Skoda’s evolution, the Epiq’s name resonates with the brand’s legacy and its future direction in the electric vehicle segment. The naming convention aligns with Skoda’s BEV SUV models, with ’E’ signifying its electric nature and ’Q’ denoting its SUV lineage. The choice of «Epiq» draws inspiration from the ancient Greek word «epos», reflecting the vehicle’s extraordinary and versatile character, aimed at meeting the diverse needs of modern families and lifestyle-oriented customers.
The Epiq will be produced in Pamplona, Spain, as part of a collaborative effort within Volkswagen’s Brand Group Core, which includes Skoda, Cupra, and Volkswagen. This launch is part of Skoda Auto’s extensive investment in its shift towards e-mobility, further highlighted by the upcoming debut of the Skoda Elroq, a battery-electric compact SUV, later this year.
