Early Reveal: Mini Aceman EV Unveiled Pre-Launch
Mini Cooper Aceman EV, bridging the gap between compact and crossover, leaked ahead of its April 24 reveal, showcasing sporty S and Cooper trims.
The Mini Cooper Aceman has made an unexpected appearance before its official unveiling on April 24, due to a leak via China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Positioned to bridge the size gap between the compact Cooper Hardtop and larger Mini crossovers, the Aceman draws inspiration from the Countryman Electric but with mixed results in its smaller form.
The Aceman, previewed in both S and Cooper trims, displays distinct differences, particularly in the sportier S variant, which boasts upgraded LED headlights, elegant bronze trim, and S branding that elevate its exterior. The base model maintains a simpler design, but both models will offer a range of customization options, including mirror colors, decal designs, and wheel sizes from 17 to 19 inches. The possibility of a JCW model or styling package is hinted at through JCW-branded accessories.
Notably compact, the Aceman measures just slightly longer than the Mini Cooper four-door, with dimensions that promise spaciousness due to its electric drivetrain, boasting a wheelbase nearly as long as the Audi Q3’s.
The powertrain is expected to mirror that of the Cooper Hardtop, with the base model featuring 181 horsepower and a 40.7 kWh battery, while the S variant is anticipated to have 215 horsepower and a 54.2 kWh battery, capping at a top speed of 106 mph.
The official debut is set for Auto China in Beijing, with a US launch anticipated in 2025.
