Lancia reimagines the iconic HF logo for the Ypsilon HF, blending heritage with future electric performance and Italian luxury.

Lancia, the storied Italian automobile brand, is heralding a new chapter in its illustrious history with the unveiling of the redesigned HF logo. This announcement, made by Luca Napolitano, Lancia brand CEO, coincides with the debut of the movie «Race for Glory» in major Italian theaters. The new HF emblem is set to grace the Lancia Ypsilon HF initially, marking its resurgence before adorning future high-performance models of the brand.

The Lancia Centro Stile has masterfully reinterpreted the original HF logo, infusing it with contemporary sensibilities while maintaining the legacy’s essence. The logo now features a simplified design, adopting the white, red, and black color scheme of the 1966 Fulvia Coupè's official logo. The design also nods to the Lancia Delta logo from the 1990s, with the lettering’s slant expressing speed and radicality. Dubbed «Progressive Classic," the new logo strikes a perfect balance between honoring the past and embracing the future, signifying innovation, premium quality, and Italian elegance.

The Lancia Ypsilon HF is not just a nod to Lancia’s racing heritage but a leap into modernity with its 100% electric powertrain. Boasting a 240 horsepower engine and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, the vehicle combines high performance with environmental consciousness. Its design, featuring a lowered suspension and a widened track, embodies the perfect synthesis of Lancia’s commitment to innovation and racing spirit.

The HF (High Fidelity) logo was initially introduced in 1960 and has since been synonymous with Lancia’s sporting achievements. It represented a club for dedicated Lancia enthusiasts and adorned some of the brand’s most iconic sports models. The HF Lancia Racing Team, founded by Cesare Fiorio, further cemented the emblem’s legacy in motorsport history with its unforgettable rally victories, from the legendary Fulvia Coupé HF to the Delta HF Integrale Evolution.

The little elephant symbol, associated with the HF logo, adds a layer of mystique and tradition, symbolizing good luck and unstoppable victory. This emblem, believed to have been chosen by Gianni Lancia as a lucky charm, is deeply rooted in Eastern mythology, adding a layer of cultural depth to the brand’s identity.

With the revival of the HF logo and the introduction of the Lancia Ypsilon HF, Lancia reaffirms its dedication to performance and luxury in the era of electric mobility. This move not only celebrates the brand’s rich history but also underscores its commitment to a sustainable future, blending classic elegance with innovative technology. As Lancia navigates its path to renaissance, the world eagerly anticipates its next steps in the automotive landscape, potentially including a return to rally racing.
