Explore VW's ID.3 GTX & ID.7 GTX Tourer: the latest in electric sports performance with unique design, dynamic drives, and cutting-edge features.

Volkswagen is taking a significant step forward in its electric vehicle (EV) lineup with the introduction of the ID.3 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer models. Marking a dual world premiere, these models are the latest to join the sporty GTX range, known for blending dynamic performance with electric efficiency. The GTX line, established in 2021, echoes the spirited legacy of Volkswagen’s GTI, GTD, and GTE models, offering a unique and electrifying driving experience.

The GTX variants have quickly become a hallmark of Volkswagen’s commitment to electrifying performance. Evidence of their success is clear, with every fifth newly registered ID.4 and ID.5 in Europe being a GTX model. This popularity underscores the growing consumer demand for vehicles that do not compromise on dynamism despite being electric. The new ID.3 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer are set to continue this trend, each featuring a unique technical setup tailored to enhance driving dynamics.

Volkswagen’s ID.3 GTX will be available in two variants, including the top-tier ID.3 GTX Performance. This model promises an electrifying compact sports car experience, with Kai Grünitz, a member of the Volkswagen Brand Board of Management, likening it to the electric equivalent of the Golf GTI Clubsport. The ID.3 GTX Performance aims to deliver instant and superior power, embodying the lightness and thrill of acceleration that fans have come to love in Volkswagen’s compact GT models. This model not only ensures driving pleasure but also brings nearly 50 years of compact GT tradition into the electric age.

The ID.3 GTX distinguishes itself with a unique exterior design, including a GTX-specific front bumper with a new black air intake and distinctive daytime running lights. High-gloss black elements, 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels, and a sporty rear diffuser accentuate its dynamic appearance. Inside, the vehicle boasts ergonomic premium sports seats, red decorative stitching, and a GTX-specific cockpit surface, underlining its sporty pedigree. The more powerful GTX Performance variant also features DCC adaptive chassis control for an enhanced driving experience.

The ID.7 GTX Tourer is introduced as the most potent model in the lineup, following the recent pre-sales launch of the ID.7 Tourer. Featuring a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, it combines the spaciousness of a large estate with the exhilarating performance of a sports car. The instant torque delivery from the electric motors promises a new kind of sporty mobility, according to Kai Grünitz.

The ID.7 GTX Tourer features a distinctive front bumper with a honeycomb grille and unique light graphics, including illuminated badges. Similar to the ID.3 GTX, it sports high-gloss black elements and standard 20-inch Skagen alloy wheels. The interior is enhanced with individualized heated seats, perforated GTX lettering, red piping, and a multifunction steering wheel with red decorative stitching. The model maintains a spacious luggage compartment, ensuring practicality alongside performance.

Volkswagen’s expansion of the GTX range with the ID.3 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer models signals the brand’s ongoing commitment to offering sporty and dynamic electric vehicles. These models not only promise exciting performance but also signify a shift in consumer expectations, where electrification and sportiness go hand in hand. With these additions, Volkswagen continues to lead the way in the electric mobility revolution, combining the thrill of driving with the benefits of electric technology.
