Audi Launches Q8 e-tron Edition Dakar2 with Off-Road Flair

The Audi Q8 e-tron edition Dakar2, inspired by the Dakar Rally, combines electric performance with rugged off-road capabilities, available from February 2024.

Audi is set to electrify the off-road segment with the launch of the Q8 e-tron edition Dakar2, drawing inspiration from the iconic Dakar Rally. This special edition model, available from the end of February 2024, is priced starting at €119,900 in Germany and brings a unique combination of electric drive performance and rugged off-road capability.

The Q8 e-tron edition Dakar2 is based on the advanced Q8 55 e-tron quattro, featuring a 106 kWh net battery (114 kWh gross) and a dual-motor setup delivering 300 kW in boost mode with a torque of 664 Nm. This allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just under 6 seconds. With a WLTP range of up to 483 kilometers and a top speed capped at 200 km/h, this electric SUV is designed not only for speed but also for endurance.

Distinguishing itself from the base model, the Q8 e-tron edition Dakar2 boasts an increased ground clearance and all-terrain General Grabber AT3 tires, enhancing its off-road prowess. The vehicle’s dynamic handling is optimized for various surfaces, with adjustable ground clearance that lowers the vehicle at higher speeds to improve aerodynamics and efficiency.

The exterior design features a raised chassis, optional decals reminiscent of the Dakar Rally’s RS Q e-tron, and a choice of three metallic colors. LED projection lights and wider wheel arch trims contribute to its assertive appearance, while the interior offers luxury with standard Matrix LED headlights, tinted sun visors, and an S line package including sports seats in Dinamica microfiber and artificial leather.

For enhanced driving experience and safety, the Q8 e-tron edition Dakar2 includes advanced technology such as a head-up display, MMI system with special edition Dakar2 imagery, and a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems. The model also emphasizes practicality with features like a panoramic glass roof, remote-folding rear seats, and a versatile storage and luggage compartment.
