Velocity Modern Classic’s new Convertible Package for the 1967-1968 Ford Mustang combines vintage style with modern performance, featuring a Gen III Coyote 5.0-liter V8, updated suspension, and luxury interior upgrades. Available for $30,000.
Velocity Modern Classic has introduced a new Convertible Package for the 1967-1968 Ford Mustang Convertible, blending classic aesthetics with modern performance and features. The design maintains the original ’60s Mustang soft-top look but upgrades it with electric motors and hydraulics for easy roof operation at the touch of a button. Available colors include black, brown, cream, and tan.
Under the hood, the Mustang is powered by a Gen III Coyote 5.0-liter V8 engine, delivering 460 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. Customers can select either a T-56 six-speed manual transmission or a 10R80 10-speed automatic gearbox. The engine setup is enhanced with custom headers, a serpentine system, and a stainless-steel exhaust system featuring Borla mufflers.
To handle the increased power, VMC has equipped the Mustang with a new Roadster Shop Mustang SPEC chassis, independent front suspension, front sway bar, and rack-and-pinion power steering. The rear suspension uses a four-link setup, and both axles feature adjustable Fox coilovers for improved handling. Additionally, the Mustang includes a nine-inch rear axle with a 3.73 gear ratio, Baer four-piston calipers, 11-inch rotors, and a Bosch Electric iBooster for the brakes. The vehicle rides on 17-inch wheels with 255/45 Continental Extreme Contact Sport 02 tires, similar to those on the $370,000 VMC Mustang Fastback.
The exterior retains its classic charm with subtle enhancements, such as custom BASF Glasurit paint, optional racing stripes, a vented hood, chrome trim, new glass, billet hood hinges, and weather seals from Ringbrothers. Updated LED headlights and taillights add a modern touch.
Inside, the Mustang maintains its vintage design while incorporating modern luxuries like climate control, sound deadening, and a fixed rear bench seat. The sound system features a RetroSound head unit, four Focal speakers, and a subwoofer. The interior is refined with brushed metal and wood trim, premium leather options, heated/ventilated seats, and a Billet interior trim finish. The package is available as a $30,000 upgrade for the Signature Series Mustang.
