The LYRIQ, which is Cadillac’s inaugural electric SUV, represents a significant shift towards electrification for the brand, with reservations opening in September 2021 and initial deliveries slated for the first half of 2022.
The LYRIQ is built on General Motors' Ultium Platform, which is designed to underpin a variety of GM’s future electric vehicles. This platform enables the LYRIQ to boast an estimated 340 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque, powered by a 12-module, 100 kilowatt-hour battery pack. This setup is expected to deliver over 300 miles of range on a full charge, positioning the LYRIQ as a competitive option in the growing electric SUV market.
One of the LYRIQ’s notable features is its charging capabilities, including high-speed DC fast charging at 190 kW, allowing for approximately 76 miles of range to be added in just about 10 minutes. For home charging, the LYRIQ offers a 19.2 kW charging module, capable of adding up to 52 miles of range per hour of charge.
Technologically, the LYRIQ is set to impress with its available Super Cruise technology, a 33-inch-diagonal advanced LED display capable of emitting over 1 billion colors, next-generation Active Noise Cancellation, and a host of other premium features. These include slim-line LED headlamps with a choreographed lighting sequence and an AKG Studio 19-speaker audio system.
The design of the LYRIQ also signifies Cadillac’s vision for its electric future, with a distinctive black crystal grille and signature vertical lighting that emphasizes the vehicle’s unique identity.
The LYRIQ’s debut is not just a new model introduction but a statement of Cadillac’s commitment to electrification and luxury innovation, potentially setting a new standard for the electric vehicle industry.
