McLaren Automotive is set to redefine the supercar landscape with the introduction of the next-generation Artura Spider and an upgraded coupe version, marking a new era for the brand's series-production hybrid supercars.

McLaren Automotive has taken a significant leap forward in the realm of hybrid supercars with the introduction of the next-generation Artura Spider and an upgraded coupe variant. This expansion marks the brand’s continued commitment to performance, innovation, and driver engagement in its first series-production hybrid supercar.

At the heart of the Artura Spider is the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA), a carbon fibre monocoque that ensures rigidity and lightweight excellence. This innovative design means the Spider maintains the same stiffness as its coupe counterpart, even without a fixed roof, and only adds 62kg due to the Retractable Hard Top. This top, a marvel of engineering, is made from composite carbon fibre and can be equipped with electrochromic glass, offering daylight or shade at the touch of a button. With a dry weight of just 1,457kg, the Artura Spider sets a new standard in its class, surpassing its closest competitor by at least 83kg.

Performance has been dialed up in both the Spider and coupe models, with a recalibrated 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine delivering an additional 19hp. Together with the axial flux E-motor, the total output reaches an impressive 690hp. This power boost translates to blistering acceleration, with both variants going from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 3.0 seconds, and achieving a top speed of 205mph. Moreover, the pure EV range has increased to 33km (21 miles), underscoring McLaren’s commitment to performance and sustainability.

The Artura Spider also features bespoke aerothermal engineering to manage airflow and engine cooling, including unique flying buttresses and Rear Deck Inlets that enhance both functionality and aesthetics. A revised exhaust system enriches the driving experience with a cleaner, more engaging engine note, adjustable via valves to suit different driving conditions. An optional sports exhaust further heightens driver engagement.

Inside, the Artura retains its driver-focused ethos, with button-free steering wheels and intuitive controls for handling and powertrain modes. The standard Clubsport seats offer superb support, with optional Comfort seats available for those seeking additional luxury.

The Artura Spider is not just a vehicle; it’s an experience, offering open-top exhilaration and unfiltered driving joy. With enhanced engine noise, responsive feedback, and instant acceleration, it represents the pinnacle of hybrid supercar performance and innovation, promising an unrivaled driving adventure.
