Spy Photos Unveil Mercedes-AMG Electric C-Class with Enhanced Aerodynamics and Performance
Spy photographers capture the Mercedes-AMG electric C-Class, revealing stylish wheels, enhanced brakes, and aerodynamic upgrades.
Spy photographers have captured the first images of the Mercedes-AMG version of the upcoming electric C-Class. Earlier this year, we spotted the standard C-Class sedan, which showcased a more conventional body shape compared to Mercedes’ current electric sedans like the EQS and EQE. The interior revealed a screen-heavy design with minimal physical controls. Now, the AMG variant has been seen with distinctive features such as stylish wheels, enhanced brakes, and aerodynamic upgrades reminiscent of Black Series AMG models.
The AMG version, like its standard counterpart, is heavily camouflaged and lacks its production taillights. Notable additions include a temporary large lip spoiler and noticeably bulkier arches, suggesting a wider body. These arches house large lightweight wheels, with prominent bronze calipers visible behind them.
Although there are no obvious diffuser elements at the rear, the front of the vehicle shows clear aerodynamic optimizations, including canards at the front fascia’s edges and a more aggressive lower intake grille. The pre-production headlights, while not final, hint at a design inspired by the W203 C-Class.
Despite the market trend favoring crossovers and SUVs over sedans, Mercedes continues to cater to customers interested in the classic four-door sedan style. Besides the electric C-Class and its AMG version, Mercedes plans to launch the Mercedes-AMG Vision Concept in 2025, an electric version of the larger AMG GT 4-Door, potentially surpassing the 831 horsepower of the existing combustion model.
The electric AMG C-Class is expected to exceed the 671 horsepower of the current 2.0-liter hybrid model. A full reveal is anticipated next year, with more details likely to emerge from Affalterbach soon.
