Bertone reveals the GB110 supercar at Top Marques Monaco. Featuring a 5.2-liter V10 engine with 1,085 hp, it is the first high-performance car powered by plastic waste fuel.

Every year, Top Marques Monaco showcases remarkable supercars and innovative creations. This year’s event saw Bertone unveiling its new GB110 supercar, marking its first physical appearance after initial renderings were released in late 2022.

Bertone, an iconic automotive design house, went bankrupt in 2014 but was revived by two brothers. The GB110 celebrates the 110th anniversary of the company’s founding.

The GB110’s body design is unique in the supercar market. The front end features narrow headlights connected by a slim piece of bodywork elevated above the hood, reminiscent of the Dodge Charger EV’s R-wing.

While Bertone has not specified the base car for the GB110’s chassis, speculation suggests it is built on the Lamborghini Huracan platform. Supporting this theory is the car’s 5.2-liter V10 engine with twin turbochargers, producing 1,085 hp (1,100 PS) and 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) of torque.

Remarkably, Bertone claims the GB110 will be the first high-performance car to use fuel made from plastic waste. In partnership with Select Fuel, they have developed technology to convert polycarbonate materials into renewable fuel. «We believe that addressing pollution requires diverse solutions employing various technologies. Plastic waste must be treated as a valuable resource,» said Jean-Franck Ricci, CEO of Bertone.

Performance figures for the GB110 are impressive: 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.79 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 6.79 seconds, and 0 to 300 km/h (186 mph) in 14 seconds. The top speed exceeds 380 km/h (236 mph), with power delivered through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to all four wheels.

The interior mirrors the aggressive exterior with a minimalist design, featuring a digital instrument cluster, flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a central spine similar to the C8 Corvette’s cabin. A small infotainment screen and an array of buttons on either side of the steering wheel complete the setup.

Only 33 units of the GB110 will be produced, with pricing yet to be announced.
