The upcoming Lamborghini Huracan successor will feature a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and three electric motors, delivering over 887 hp. Set to debut in August, this all-wheel-drive supercar will surpass the Ferrari 296 GTB in power and performance.

The successor to the Lamborghini Huracan is set to deliver more than 887 hp, giving it a significant power edge over its rival, the Ferrari 296 GTB.

Lamborghini recently confirmed that this new mid-engined supercar will feature a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine capable of revving up to 10,000 rpm. This new engine, which replaces the Huracan’s 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10, will produce 789 hp. Lamborghini’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, revealed on LinkedIn that the engine will be complemented by three electric motors, collectively generating over 887 hp.

While details about the hybrid setup are scarce, previous reports suggesting a single electric motor on the rear axle were incorrect. Instead, the car, likely named the Temerario, will adopt a setup similar to the larger Lamborghini Revuelto, which also uses three electric motors—two driving the front wheels.

The Lamborghini Revuelto boasts 1,001 hp from its 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine combined with three electric motors. While Winkelmann did not provide an exact figure for the Temerario, he confirmed it would exceed 887 hp (900 PS). This power output comfortably surpasses the Ferrari 296 GTB’s 819 hp, and with all-wheel drive, the Temerario will offer better traction and power delivery than the rear-wheel-drive Ferrari.

Aesthetically, the Temerario will retain the distinctive Lamborghini styling, incorporating elements from the Revuelto. Expect to see slim headlights and hexagonal daytime running lights at the front, along with a large central tailpipe and a pronounced diffuser at the rear.

Further details about the Huracan’s successor are anticipated in the coming weeks, as Lamborghini plans to unveil the new supercar in August.
