Ferrari F250: LaFerrari Successor Revealed in Camouflage with V6 Hybrid Powertrain
The highly anticipated Ferrari F250, successor to the LaFerrari, has been spotted leaving the factory in camouflage.
The hypercar industry has evolved significantly since the launch of the Ferrari LaFerrari in early 2013, and Ferrari is now diligently working on its highly anticipated successor.
This new model, tentatively named the F250, was recently captured on video leaving the Ferrari factory, cloaked in camouflage and fitted with temporary body panels. The car looks similar to the test mule spotted by spy photographers a year ago, appearing to be composed of various parts sourced by Ferrari’s engineers.
Mirroring the LaFerrari, the forthcoming hypercar features a bulbous roof and windshield, akin to a prototype race car. The front end is notably low, with large air outlets on the hood and active aero flaps hidden beneath the front grille to enhance aerodynamics.
Ferrari’s distinctive design elements are evident throughout. The prototype seems to have butterfly doors, and the prominent rear wing dominates the rear view. The test vehicle includes two fake tailpipes at the back, while the real exhausts are centrally mounted, similar to the 296 GTB.
Although Ferrari has not confirmed the details of the powertrain, rumors suggest it will be equipped with a V6 engine. Unlike the V12 in the new 12Cilindri or the V8 in the SF90, this flagship hypercar will likely feature a V6, possibly related to the engine in the 296 GTB. Ferrari aims to compensate for the smaller engine with a potent hybrid setup, expected to deliver over 1,000 hp.
Last year’s reports indicated that the car would be unveiled towards the end of this year, but Ferrari has yet to confirm the launch date. Regardless, the LaFerrari’s successor is anticipated to sell out rapidly upon release.
