Explore the Luxurious Interior of Cadillac’s New Optiq EV
Cadillac introduces the sophisticated interior of the Optiq EV, blending classic luxury with modern tech, ahead of its Beijing Motor Show debut.
Cadillac has revealed the interior of the all-new Optiq EV just before its official launch at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show, scheduled from April 25 to May 4. The cabin design combines classic luxury with contemporary technology, drawing inspiration from the Lyriq. Features like the three-spoke steering wheel, and an extensive continuous glass panel encompassing both the driver’s display and infotainment screen, are borrowed from its larger counterpart. In the Lyriq, this advanced LED display spans 33 inches.
The center console of the Optiq, similar to the Lyriq, includes a rotary gear selector and twin cupholders but is elevated to give a floating appearance. It also features slim air vents above straightforward physical climate controls and a storage bin enhanced with ambient lighting.
The interior is showcased in two color schemes in the initial images. One features warm saddle-colored leather against black carpeting, dashboard, and headliner, enriched with glossy wood-effect inlays on the console and predominantly silver or glossy piano black accents, exuding an upscale and inviting ambiance. The alternative scheme presents light gray leather complemented by blue interior touches and carbon fiber-style inlays, adding a lively and fresh flair.
The cabin’s design is matched with tasteful interior lighting that emits a soothing blue glow, which also illuminates features like the dual USB-C ports beside the storage bin. Initial leaks from the Chinese market in June 2023 indicated that the base model of the Optiq would deliver 201 horsepower, with a more robust version available at 241 hp. Details on the battery size and range remain undisclosed, though the lithium-ion battery is reported to be supplied by CATL.
It is anticipated that the North American variants of the Optiq will offer more power, potentially exceeding the 290 hp available in the Chevrolet Equinox EV, as Cadillac aims to maintain a performance edge over GM’s mainstream models. Following the unveiling of the interior, further details about the Optiq, including pricing and availability for both China and the United States, are expected to be announced soon.
