Tesla’s Florida Supercharger to Be Its Largest

Tesla’s ambitious expansion includes a 200-stall Supercharger station in Florida, poised to be the largest globally, catering to Tesla, Rivian, and Ford Evs.

Tesla is set to expand its Supercharger network by constructing what’s expected to be its largest station yet, located in Florida. This new development, now welcoming Rivian and Ford EV owners as well, has been highlighted by a recent reveal of the site plans. According to these plans, the Supercharger station will feature a substantial setup with over 200 charging stalls, including 160 supercharging stalls, 40 standalone stalls, and eight pull-through stalls designed specifically for trailers. The strategic location at 3010 State Rd. 60, near I-95 and Florida Turnpike’s exit 193, points to a significant boost in the charging infrastructure in the region.

This upcoming project in Yeehaw Junction, Florida, known as the «Mega Site,» has sparked considerable interest, especially since it is set to surpass existing Supercharger stations in terms of capacity. The GPD Group Inc. is slated to oversee the construction of this ambitious project, which will roll out in a phased manner to ensure gradual accessibility to the increasing number of EV owners in the area.

There’s ongoing speculation about whether the new Superchargers will feature the latest V3 technology or the even more advanced V4 Superchargers, which have already been spotted in certain locations across the US. These V4 Superchargers are notable for their Magic Dock and integrated credit card readers, signaling a step forward in user convenience and accessibility.

While the Florida site is poised to become the world’s largest Supercharger station, it’s worth noting that it doesn’t currently hold the title for the largest EV charging station globally. That honor goes to the Shell Recharge Shenzhen Airport EV Station in China, boasting 258 stalls.

In addition to this significant development in Florida, Tesla is also working on other innovative projects, including a Supercharger diner and drive-in movie concept in California, as well as another large Supercharger station with 164 stalls in the state, further underscoring Tesla’s commitment to expanding its Supercharger network and enhancing the EV charging ecosystem.
