Nissan Rogue 2023 Recall Alert: Seatbelt and Airbag Safety Concerns

Urgent recalls for the 2023 Nissan Rogue address critical seatbelt and airbag flaws. Owners advised to seek immediate repairs for enhanced safety.

Nissan Rogue owners are urged to address recent recalls for front seatbelt and airbag issues before encountering any accidents.

The initial recall involves 9,720 units of the 2023 Rogue, where the front seat lap belt tensioners, supplied by ZF Occupant Safety Systems, may be improperly crimped, potentially compromising their effectiveness in a crash. Nissan plans to notify affected Rogue owners starting April 19 to replace the faulty seatbelt assemblies at Nissan dealerships at no cost.

A broader recall extends beyond the Rogue, affecting a smaller total number of vehicles but including the 2023-2024 Nissan Kicks, Sentra, Versa, the 2024 Frontier, Pathfinder, Titan, and the 2023-2024 Infiniti QX50 and 2024 QX60. Only 351 vehicles across these models are reported to have airbag inflators, assembled by Daicel Safety Systems America without a necessary gasket. This omission could allow moisture to compromise the inflator’s propellant over time, diminishing airbag effectiveness and increasing injury risk in a crash.

Despite no reported injuries from these issues, Nissan is proactive in recalling the affected vehicles to replace the airbag inflators, with owner notifications beginning April 10.
