The 2024 Lexus NX introduces the Overtrail trim in Japan, enhancing off-road capability with special features, alongside updates in handling, colors, and equipment.

Lexus has unveiled updates for its NX lineup in Japan for the new model year, introducing the Overtrail variant designed for enhanced off-road capability. This update brings better handling, new color choices, and upgraded standard features to the SUV.

The Overtrail version of the Lexus NX, while not as rugged as the GX’s similar trim, includes several off-road-oriented enhancements. It features 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires and a raised ground clearance by 15 mm (0.6 inches), complemented by a unique setting in the Adaptive Variable Suspension system to minimize vibrations on rough terrain.

Externally, the Overtrail model showcases black detailing (including wheels, grille, and other exterior elements) against the new Moon Desert color option. The interior boasts a unique Monolith/black upholstery scheme with elegant wood trim on the doors.

The Overtrail trim is offered for the NX350 (2.4-liter non-electric), NX350h (2.5-liter hybrid), and NX450h+ (2.5-liter plug-in hybrid) models, without altering their powertrains.

For the 2024 model year, the NX’s suspension has been fine-tuned for better handling and comfort, and chassis rigidity has been enhanced with additional support. The AWD versions feature an improved Trail mode, and the NX350, NX350h, and NX450h+ models see a slight performance boost. Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels have also been improved to reduce engine noise inside the cabin.

The NX lineup now includes a Sonic Copper exterior color and a Hazel interior option, with «version L» models featuring body-colored fender trim and an available Solis White interior.

Upgrades across the range include the standardization of the NX450h+’s 14-inch infotainment touchscreen in the NX250 and NX350h, replacing the former 9.8-inch display. Enhancements also include illuminated rear door handles, dual USB-C ports on the console, and an externally visible VIN plate. The NX350 and NX350h’s F Sport trims now come with full LED headlights that include adaptive high beams. Additional options like the panoramic sunroof for the NX450h+ have been made available due to high demand.

The 2024 Lexus NX is now available for order in Japan, with prices starting from ¥5,120,000 ($34,023) for the entry-level NX250 2WD, up to ¥7,725,000 ($51,334) for the top-of-the-line NX450h+ Overtrail AWD. Since its original launch in 2014, over 1.42 million NX units have been sold across more than 90 countries, with hybrid and plug-in hybrid models making up over 56% of sales.
